Four boys between the ages of 17 and 20 years have been arrested by the Akwa Ibom State Police Command for allegedly trading in human parts.
Addressing newsmen at the command headquarters in Uyo, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Delia Nwawe, said the suspects were arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) after being tipped off that some teenagers were shopping for a buyer of a human skull.
“The four teenagers were arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the command in Mbo local government area after a tipoff by some youths of the area that the boys had a human skull for which they were looking for a buyer. Investigation is on and the suspects will be charged to court soon,” she said.
In a another development, the Akwa-Ibom Police Command said it had apprehended one Victor Esin Nyak for allegedly severing the head of his uncle, Rev. Esin Andang, after a minor quarrel.Nwawe said the case was still being investigated, but that the suspect, Victor Nyak, had confessed to the crime, saying that his action was due to provocation because his uncle was responsible for his lack of progress.
